Nautilus is recalling its treadmills after reports that the treadmills start on their own and pose a fall hazard.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission says owners of some Nautilus treadmill T616 and T618 models should stop using them and contact Nautilus. The reason for the recall is after 21 reports have been filed of treadmills starting on their own and creating a fall hazard.

Consumer Reports says no injuries have been reported. The models that are affected range specific serial numbers. The T616 model serial numbers are 100672PRO21140001 through 100672PRO21171980. The T618 model serial numbers are 100647PRO21130111 through 100647PRO21183960.

The CPSC says the recalled treadmills have been sold at Best Buy, Walmart and other stores across the country and also online at Nautilus’s website along with Amazon from April 2021 to November 2021. The T616 model costs about $1,600 and the T618 model costs about $1,500.

Nautilus will send a free USB flash drive that will provide a software upgrade and instructions following a recall. Nautilus will automatically ship the USB and instructions to customers who purchased the treadmills directly from them. You can contact Nautilus for the recall at 800-266-2108 or by visiting their website under “Recall Notice,” according to Consumer Reports.
