Victoria Beckham has always been synonymous with a very slender body type and regimented, cardio-filled exercise routine to sustain it. However the former Spice Girl has recently shared that she thinks that curves are officially in, and thin is out, and she's personally made some big changes to achieve more "balance" in her life.

Once famous for her commitment to an extremely regimented exercise routine, not to mention her predilection for eating the same meal every day, the UK fashion designer and former Spice Girl seems to have changed her tune on body ideals.

Victoria Beckham spoke to Grazia UK recently about how she thinks that it's now 'unfashionable' to want to be thin, and we couldn't be happier to hear it.

Victoria has previously shared her gruelling-sounding workout before, revealing that she would do a two-hour workout most mornings which comprised of a 45-minute run on a treadmill, involving hills and sprints, and then switch to a number of bodyweight and Pilates-inspired moves - focusing on her core. This is all before breakfast, may we add.

But Victoria's hard-core health rules may have perhaps bent a little, with the mother-of-four who has been the poster girl a very slender body type for many years saying that "It’s an old-fashioned attitude, wanting to be really thin... I think women today want to look healthy, and curvy. They want to have some boobs – and a bum.... The curvier you are, the better my VB Body dresses look."

The reason for her change of opinion? Perhaps a change of scenery. After having spent some time in Miami with her family (where husband David Beckham co-owns the Inter Miami football team), she noticed that "There are a lot of really curvy women in Miami, and they really own it, you know? ... They walk along Miami beach with not a lot of clothes on, and they look fantastic. They show their bodies off with such confidence. I found both their attitude and their style really liberating. And as a mother, I loved that Harper was around women who were really celebrating their curves and enjoying how they look."

She continued on, saying that “It’s not about being a certain size... It’s about knowing who you are and being happy with who you are. I have found my own balance between wanting to have fun and being disciplined about eating healthily and working out. When you’re younger, you fight against that balance.”

The former pop star has similar made some changes to her own workout routine, now focusing nowon weights instead of the “tons of cardio” (she's been known to regularly attend Tracey Anderson and Barry's Bootcamp classes) that she used to do.

Victoria workouts out five to six times a week, with husband David and a personal trainer and she says of the switch, “I’ve always been a bit scared of weights, but it turns out I love them... I’ve even got those special gloves to wear! It’s good to switch things up and keep your body guessing. I’ve got so much more muscle tone now.”

Keep it up VB. You're doing amazing, sweetie.
